Marvel Universe MMO

Post by xombiekitty on Tue Jul 19, 2011 7:41 pm

Marvel have been rumoured to have a MMO on the horizon for years.
In fact, in looked quite promising for a while that we would have a wonderful Marvel MMO to play in, but, as business matters sometimes do, it ran into issues and we were left without the Marvel Universe to play in.

Recently there has been talk of the long awaited Marvel MMO popping up again, and this time the talk comes directly from Marvel.
I'm excited because I'm a complete fangirl, but also very wary because it doesn't sound like an MMO in the sense that I'm use to.

Here's the blurb:

Smash Frost Giants with Thor's Hammer. Unbalance Ultron by slinging Captain America's Shield. Explore a remote and hostile jungle as Storm.

Leave behind your everyday life and live as a renowned Marvel Super Hero including all of his or her abilities. Become powerful, famous, well-respected, feared by evil-doers, and relied upon by the citizens of a grateful, persistent online world.

Of course, I'll give it a go, and I'm awaiting more information eagerly... I'm just a little worried and getting the feeling that it may not be the sort of MMO that I've waited for.

*fingers crossed* for more information soon!

I'm hoping that this

a/ Actually eventuates. Marevl have canned an MMO previously.
b/ Is half decent.

I'm enjoying DCUO. A Lot. But I'm a Marvel fanboy at heart, and the chance to go on mission with the X-Men and The Avengers (and the New Warriors, and the GLA, and Power pack ... ) interests me far more than the DC stuff.

I'd like character creation to be a little more flexible than in DCUO, but not too complex. DCUO seems a limited. City Of Heroes gave you moe options.
