Adobe Photoshop
I think Photoshop is a fabulous tool, but unfortunately not enough people know how to
use it well, leading to very mixed results and feelings towards the
product when any faults should lie at the feet of those that abuse the
abilities it offers users. Photoshop is being used (and far too often overused) by an ever-increasing
number of people, so it may be hard for some people to consider life
without it (especially the younger Chaotic Geek critters amongst us), but today, Friday the 19th of February, 2010, marks the 20th Birthday of Adobe Photoshop!!!
To celebrate, Adobe organised events all over the globe and online including an Adobe TV broadcast reuniting the original Photoshop team for the first time in eighteen years. It's fun and interesting viewing for those wanting to know more about the history of Photoshop and the journey it's taken: http://tv.adobe.com/go/photoshop-20th-anniversary. The team even discuss some of the incredibly poor work people have produced over the years and the way the Photoshop-savvy dwellers of the internet have then put many of those people in their place

Re: Adobe Photoshop
While you probably already know about these things, as a self taught Aobe amateur, I used Photoshop elements to start with and a site called "you such at photoshop" for great tutorials.

Re: Adobe Photoshop
I have just installed CS5 myself and love the new features and tool upgrades. Also just discovered Illistrator (even though I've had it in the past haven't used it before now) I think I'll be using that now more than Photoshop.
