Does that count? It's technically NOT an 80s song but it's a 2000s song written as an 80s parody.

Well maybe we should get this one out of the way to begin with.
For added fun, can you count how many times he does the "punchy dance"?

They stayed there for a minute but now the delete buttons are gone - they were next to the "quote" button" weren't they?? Was it something I said??? LOL
I'm willing to sacrifice all except - Psuedo Echo - Funky Town; Wham! - Wake me up before you gogo; Poison - Nothin but a good time; Billy Ocean - Get out of my dreams; and Michael Jackson -Thriller. I can live without the others.

prepare to be amazed, astounded and a little bit ashamed by the sheer awesomeness of Mr Adam and his Ants. This was
was a time when a serious rock lyric could be "do wa diddlywop"
I give unto you the stand up highywayman in a very fashionable shirt and
comfortable shoes.

Ahh the glorious 80's where men could wear pink satin without any threat to their man'ness, roll around in some kind of drung induced fit as it somehow explained the lyrical motivations.
While the song itself is actually quite good, all that good work is completly unraveled at the 1 minute 18 mark where the coreographer proved that it is indeed possible to mix nyquil and cocaine in a bad way. But hand around for the next few stanza's, you know you want to... it's a train wreck of 80's chiffon, air guitar and neon goodness.

Okay, you have to admit that it takes a brave man to offer up the Nolans, but brave I am and awsome they are. Before Madonna or GaGa, these girls were getting into challening yellow pant suits and very very skintight outfits held up only by the power of their blowwave and lung capacity.
Slip into something more comfortable, fire up the cheese fondu, dig out the K-tel record selector and get your self in the mood for dancing

not as popular in Australia as they should have been, and probably unknow to the younger whippersnappers (unless you watch Glee) but Journey are a icon in the American music scene.
As we see here a brilliant song is teamed up with a stunning video, and I mean stunning, bight lights in the eyes, finger in the powerpoint, ultimate curry vindaloo stunning. This video has it all, power walking in power high heels, long soulful looks to camera, jeans so tight you can tell a mans religion and air piano, I KID YOU NOT, FREAKING AIR PIANO!!!!!, Watch for the excellent use of aviator sunglasses and bushy moustache.

Re: The Awesome & Awful 80s Competition! (WINNERS ANNOUNCED)
and now for something completly different, because I did spend the overwhelming majority of the 80's dressed in black being a perky-goth with aspirations of darkness. I picked something from a record that I pretty much wore out from overuse.
The Sisters of Mercy, goth rock at it's best, dark, brooding, thumping baseline (years before it was popular to do so) lyrics that made little sense except to the disaffected youth. I mean come on, what does "hot metal and methadrine, I see the empire down" mean, but dang it was cool. shot in slums and sweat shops and rail yards, this was alt.industrial.
Quite the shame entries were limited to 5 (though I understand why of course) because I'd have gone with fleshing out my alt'ness and lending some more industrial to the pop-neon clips. So props to the MATT1971 who put AC/DC in there. The 80's were creative freedom and there was room for all styles.

I sit corrected, the Nolans were definitly making hits in the 70's, In the mood for dancing was released in November 1979 though it made the top ten the following year made the dubious honour of being the 27th best selling single of 1980, and was re-released in 1989. [source wikipedia]
so I'm pleading a technicality for it's inclusion, and being called a "kid", I shall so take that as a compliment.
