Introductions
Having noticed that some members prefer introduce themselves before jumping into the general posts, I've created this thread so that there is a specific place to do that now
Of course, if you prefer to just get straight into posting on the forum, please do so
I'm shocking at writing intros myself so, for anyone interested, here are the bios from our Kickstarter page for Chaotic Geek, Chris, & myself...
CHAOTIC GEEK:
Chaotic Geek unleashes the combined chaotic and geeky natures of Lyn, aka xombiekitty, & Chris, aka ZenBubble, upon the unsuspecting masses! Books, Sci-Fi, Internet, Music, Movies, Comics, Trivia, Animation, Science, Gaming, Technology, Conventions, Television, Cosplay, Consoles, Fandom... whatever the geekery, and no matter the chaos, it's devoured with delight at www.chaoticgeek.com
JOIN THE MADNESS!
CHRIS:
Chris was born at an early in age in a small, modest, humble, inner-city hospital maternity wing. After a couple of years spent laying about and not being a productive member of society, Chris was enrolled, against his will, first in Primary School followed closely by Secondary School.
After deciding that Tertiary education was only good for introducing one to the Wonders Of The Interwebs, he left, having learnt all that they could offer him (that being the Wonders Of The Intarwebs!) and struck out on his own. After picking his own up and dusting it off, he apologised for striking it and settled down into a career.
Chris is baffled as to why Lyn has not yet realised how much better she could do in a mate and run off screaming. He Loves her Very Much.
LYN:
Photographer, geek-girl, pop-culture addict, fan of nature, music, and those that are true to themselves!
Lyn does not consider herself anywhere near as witty as Chris, so her bio isn't as interesting, nor as funny. She would however like it known that she loves her prince, Chris, very much ♥

Re: Introductions
Hi I'm Baralier. Long time time fanboi. When other kids were getting heavily into sport I was reading. Found my grandfather's book on vampires of the world when I was about 8 (Chinese vampires that tear off your head and suck out the spinal fluid are just icky), and have always been interested in weird and fantastical ever since.
I've been involved with fandom over many years: been on the committee for various conventions, been president of a role-playing club and ran a magazine for goth types for many years.
Worshipper of the Alter of Weird Al. Costumer, pedant, sarcasmist and nerd.
I think that covered the important stuff.

Re: Introductions
Ok will jump in here as well.
I'm Kat, Geek Girl for Sci-fi fantasy and all things Disney (yes i'm hoping to get to Disneyland for the re-launch of Star Tours as it combines 2 of my favorite things). Didn't get into Sci-Fi until Star Wars SE was released on Video in '97 but since then.... This year i went to San Diego Comic Con which is insane for those who have never been think of the Biggest con you have been to and times by at least 6 more if the con had less than 20,000 people. Also went to Star Wars Celebration V which is my second Celebration as i also went to CIV,
in the last 12 months have gotten involved with the SW costuming community and now am working out at least 4 different costumes and no they are not all SW 2 are Disney/Disneyland inspired. also starting to really get astronomy but current skills involve the southern cross and Jupiter.
ok i'm sure that is more than most of you wanted to know about me.

Ambivalence2000
Hello again, I return for another flash visit. Online I tend to be ambivalence, give or take a 2000 at the end. In life, I am mild-mannered Ian A. Chapman. I work reporting on fruit and vegetables in a green grocery by day, but by night I am a science-fiction fan who works with the Doctor Who Club of Victoria and the Melbourne Science Fiction Club.
My interests in fandom tends to focus on meeting people and being social, rather than being absorbed by any one show or focus. That said, I do have a few rather snazzy jackets, so maybe I am in it for the fashion. At Star Walking today I wore my new Adidas Wookie jacket (Image), despite the relative warmth, over my spoiler shirt (image).
Origin story...
0-6: Care Bares, Play School, Muppets
6-8: Smurfs, Alf, Doctor Who (1)
8-10: Sky Trakers, Escape from Jupiter, Double
10-12: Blake's 7, Classic Trek, Doctor Who (5/6), Battlestar Galactica
12-16: MST3K, Next Gen, DS9, Irwan Allan, X-Files, Red Dwarf, Homeboys in Space
16-18: Voyager, Buffy/Angel, Farscape, Doctor Who (3/7), Prisoner, The Others (TV)
18-22: Doctor Who Classic (Complete), Anime, Futurama, Stargate
22-26: Battlestar Galactica, Doctor Who 2005/2006/2008, Torchwood S2/S3
27 (Almost): Glee, Adventures of Brisco County Jr, The Lost Room

Introducing the Claremonster
I'm here because xombiekitty cornered me at an Austrek meeting and made me do stuff with her iPad. I'm claremonster because that's what xombiekitty calls me (and I'm still not sure why!).
The boring bits: My introduction to SF was through the Star Trek books, which got me interested in the television show and then the movies. Then I joined a club (Austrek) in a desperate bid to meet other people who might be more like me than most, and have been caught up in a neverending cyle of visiting clubs and working at conventions and being unable to escape fandom ever since. My main focus now is reading old SF - 1950s and 1960s especially - and I collect Galaxy magazine and SF books (and books in general) for fun. I'm a member of Austrek, MSFC and StarWalking (by default) and this is my first online forum (other than facebook, which doesn't really count). I get narky when people behave stupidly, I get picky about grammar and spelling and I like using parentheses. Hi.

If only there were some kind of website containing videos so that I could see what you look like, hear what you sound like, and listen to your well-informed opinion on various toys and movies ...
