Supanova Sydney 2010

Post by Grenge on Tue May 04, 2010 12:59 pm

Well I'm a bit happier now about Supanova in Sydney (and Perth) and it is a bit of a Whedon-fest.

They have just announced Eliza Dushku and Tahmoh Penikett, add them to Charisma Carpenter and Felica Day.

OMG I would like to know out of all the Melbourne people in this forum who would like to go.. as In drive to Sydney, 4-5 in one car would be a cheap option, Just think we could have a convoy of people from Vic turn up and rock Supernova...Who Is Interested??? Smile

They announced that after I bought my Whedonverse ticket, too. I can just hope they get someone just as awesome. Like Amy Acker, or Neil Patrick Harris, or Gina Torres. Or whoever it was that played Sierra in Dollhouse. Oh well, I'm going, and get the Whedonverse photo, so I'll have to be happy with that. Like you'd be unhappy in a photo with those three??? Mind you, I am going to this for the anime guests, too, so I'll be having a lot of fun over those 2.5 days.

The revolving door continues to ...... well revolve.

Tahmoh Penikett has pulled out.

But there are some new guests that have dropped in at the last minute.
Dichen Lachman who plays Sierra on Dollhouse is coming

As well as Summer Glau from Serenity, Dollhouse & Terminator SCC.

Also Leah Gibson from Twilight

They have also added Mark Lutz who is the Groosalugg in Angel.

Well only a few days to go. I'm going on the Saturday only. I'll be wearing a shirt with the logo of On The Edge Of Darkness on it.

Well I'm back home now after Supanova yesterday.
Didn't end up being the day I expected, but not entirely Supanova's fault.

What was Supanova's fault was the two hour wait just to get into the building. Then get to the end of the line and find out there is only one register to serve everyone.

When we got in, I was too busy looking after my son to see the guests that I wanted to see. We did see Daniel Logan (Baby Boba) and my son really loved the wrestling so we missed Eliza & Dichen, then I got sidetracked & lost track of the time and Missed Summer as well. The main point was my son really enjoyed himself, and I wasn't completely dissapointed.
Maybe next time I will have to organize to spend one day there for him and a second day to see what I want to see.

Found some video of the people dressed up in the enormous line outside Sydney Supanova.
I was almost in it, I was just out of shot when he wa filming the woman dressed as Misty from Pokemon.

That's scary. It's hard to tell how much is him taking the piss or how much is him being clueless.

It was awesome. The Whedonverse pass was worth the expense, and I now have many photos of Cosplay. I'm beginning to think there should be a Fullmetal Alchemist muster or something similar. For once the number of Ed Elrics outnumbered the Narutos.
